Quincy Highsmith

Mr. William Quincy Highsmith, Decision Range Instructor

Mr. Highsmith is a retired Marine Corps Master Sergeant. He served as the Marine Corps Institute’s (MCI) team leader for the development of combat arms correspondence courses and interactive multimedia instructions. He was an instructor adviser for the Marine Corps University’s advance course, training senior level staff noncommissioned officers (SNCO’s) in the areas of leadership and the tactics of warfighting.

MSgt Highsmith was a tank company platoon sergeant and platoon commander serving in each tank battalion. MSgt. Highsmith also spent four years as a Marine Security Guard at the American embassies in Paris, France, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Moscow, Russia, and Bern, Switzerland. He fought in operation Desert Storm with task force Papa Bear, and was also tasked to serve as a platoon sergeant for Marine Security Company West Loch Hawaii. While in Hawaii he served as a marksmanship instructor. He also deployed with the 26th MEU to Albania and the Congo Africa.

MSgt Highsmith was born in Tillery, North Carolina, He joined the Marine Corps in March 1981. Some of his awards include Meritorious Service Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Navy Unit Commendation, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, and Humanitarian Service Medal.
