A retired U.S. Marine Corps Colonel, he was the Head of Experimental Operations at the Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory and served as Experiment Control for the seminal Hunter Warrior Advanced Warfighting Experiment during March 1997. Previous assignments included over 10 years military experience in political-military and strategic plans positions – to include serving as the Head of the Commandant’s Staff Group – as well as additional duties that included serving as Co-chairman of two Office of the Secretary of Defense sponsored Revolution in Military Affairs Task Forces. Mr. Lasswell was the Marine Corps author for the Naval Services’ strategic concept document titled Forward . . . From the Sea and is a frequent contributor to professional journals on a variety of future technology and operational concept issues.

Mr. Lasswell has extensive experience in military strategy, future technology, and concept development. He is one of the few former military officers with experience in the design, assessment, and conduct of major advanced warfighting experiments. Prior to joining GAMA Corporation in 1998, Mr. Lasswell facilitated in over 40 seminar wargames, round-tables, and assessments ranging from political-military strategy games and mission area assessments for the Marine Corps, to advanced technology and Revolution in Military Affairs war games sponsored by the Department of Defense Office of Net Assessment, to future military capability and investment assessments for the Chief of Naval Operations. In addition, he facilitated senior level focus groups in several Naval War College’s Global War Games and three of the Office of Naval Research sponsored Technology Initiatives Games. Since joining GAMA Corporation, he has assisted in facilitating a major operational review of an Advanced Concepts Technology Demonstration sponsored by the Office of Naval Research and a Cultural Wargame focused on the Kosovo crisis on behalf of the Marine Corps Warfighting Lab.

While serving as with the Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory, Mr. Lasswell was involved in the assessment of state-of-the-art decision making and combat training both domestically and within the United Kingdom. Since joining GAMA Corporation, he has been actively involved both in developing tactical decision making modules to support a computer assisted, interactive, facilitated tactical decision-making range and in supervising the assessment of its value in improving the decision-making skills of its users.
